Comvisage 2024, organized by the Corporate Interface Team at SIMC, is our annual flagship event. This year, we focused on "Digital Renaissance: Adaptation, Innovation, Engagement." Industry leaders discussed how brands are adapting to the digital era, leveraging AI and machine learning for innovation, and using data to forge strong customer connections.

SIMC’s Comvisage is the annual flagship event driven by the Corporate Interface Team - MBA that brings together students, professionals, and industry experts for three days of insightful talks, workshops, and panel discussions under a unifying theme. It serves as a platform to bridge the gap between the classroom and the corporate world, offering valuable learning and networking opportunities.

Comvisage 2024 focused on the theme "Digital Renaissance: Adaptation, Innovation, Engagement – Decoding Brands' Interplay of Building Connections in the Data-Driven Era."

The discussions centred around three key pillars:

Adaptation: Exploring how brands recalibrated their strategies to integrate digital tools into operations and interactions while fostering agility to respond to markets.

Innovation: Analyzing how emerging technologies like AI and machine learning drove brand innovation.

Engagement: Understanding how data-driven insights enabled brands to understand consumer behaviour and preferences, helping them craft impactful, personalized experiences and building strong connections.

Spanned over three vibrant days, on the 4th, 5th, and 6th of September, the event brought together esteemed speakers who shared their expertise in sessions that revolved around various facets of the digital renaissance, exploring how brands have adapted, innovated, and engaged in the rapidly evolving data-driven era.

Day 1 of the event commenced with a keynote address by Mr Karthik Srinivasan - Communication Strategy Consultant, who illuminated how media, brands, and consumers continually evolve alongside AI, VR, and AR. Despite these advancements, he reminded the audience that the timeless principles of communication, attention to detail, understanding consumer needs, and consistent branding—remain central to success. The event proceeded to a session delivered by Mr. Roycin D’souza - VP - of Branded Content, Only Much Louder, who highlighted how Gen Z is reshaping the consumer journey, presenting brands with unique challenges and opportunities.

On day 2 of Comvisage 2024, Mr Jai Daga - VP of Technology - Sony Pictures Networks India, kicked off the session by exploring the potential of gamification to transform passive audiences into active participants, he emphasized the importance of making consumers a part of the story rather than just telling it.

The session further delved into a workshop about marketing's dual nature, with Mr. Rohit Misra - VP -Digital & Head of Monetization, Vodafone Idea Ltd., dissecting the balance between performance marketing as a science of optimization and brand advertising as an art of value creation. Mr. Farooq Chisty - Head of Growth, at Zo Labs, shares fascinating insights into AI's role in crafting effective prompts that inspire innovative ideas, demonstrating its evolving impact on content creation and engagement.

The day concluded with a duo session by Mr Aman Joshi - Head of Digital Marketing, Dr Agarwal's Eye Hospital, Ex-Shemaroo Entertainment, and Mr Roochay Shukla - Head of Creative Marketing - India & South Asia, Believe, who explored the rising prominence of audio, both as a branding tool and a medium for personal storytelling.

The event concluded with a panel discussion on day 3 by Ms. Mou Chakravorty - Director, Marketing, Brand & Communications, Deloitte, who underscored the enduring power of storytelling and the importance of creating memorable, standout experiences for consumers. Mr. Akshit Kaushik - Global CX and Quality Lead, Google, who emphasized solving customer problems as the foundation for profitability, and Mr. Abhinav Kaushik - Managing Partner (West) & Growth Partner, VML India, who inspired the audience to trust their ideas and take bold steps toward making them a reality.

All the attendees had the opportunity to gain invaluable insights, discover emerging trends, and learn actionable strategies directly from these industry leaders. Each speaker contributed to a rich tapestry of learning, leaving everyone with lessons to carry forward in their journeys.
