On 25th November 2024, SIU's Faculty of Media and Communication hosted its 8th edition of annual memorial lecture series.

The series started in 2017 to honor the former RK Laxman Chair Professor, Dr. Dileep Padgaonkar’s commitment and integrity as both journalist and as a human being. This year’s lecture featured veteran journalist Neerja Chowdhary as the chief guest. Over the years various renowned speakers have graced the previous editions, including Rajdeep Sardesai (2017), Shekhar Gupta (2018), P. Sainath (2019), Karan Thapar (2020), Mahfouz Aman (2021), Yogita Limaye (2022), and Girish Kuber (2023).

The event was well-received, with interesting discussions, valuable insights, and a strong reflection on Dr. Padgaonkar's legacy.
