MA (Mass Communication)


Admission Details

Graduate from any recognized University / Institution of National Importance with a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent grade (45% or equivalent grade for Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribes).Applicants expecting their final year results can also apply. However, their admission will be provisional and subject to their proof of graduation with 50% marks or equivalent grade.

  • Programmes which require specific discipline/ subject specialization need to be checked for eligibility as given by the respective Institute.
  • A candidate who has completed qualifying degree from any Foreign University must obtain an equivalence certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
  • All foreign degrees/ qualifications need to be verified from AIU by the candidate before seeking admission to any programme of SIU.
  • Evaluation Division of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) issues equivalence certificate for foreign degrees/qualifications. Application Procedure

The application procedure of M.A. (Mass Communication) at SIMC (PG)is a three - step process.

Step 1: Online Registration

  • Visit www.simc.edu

  • Fill up the online application. The application form contains the details under the following tabs.

Step 2: Make Payment

Pay a non-refundable fee of Rs. 2150/-. You have the option of following payment mode: ONLINE PAYMENT THROUGH BILLDESK

  • Credit/Debit/Cash Cards/Internet Banking Payment Through BillDesk Payment Gateway:

    You may pay your SIMC application fee using any one of the available modes to Symbiosis Institute of Media & Communication (SIMC).

Step 3: Appear for SIMC MA (MC) Online Entrance Test (Home proctored)

Taking the SIMC MA (MC) Online Entrance Test is mandatory for applying to SIMC's MA(MC) Programme.

Post clearing the SIMC MA(MC) online entrance test, the 2nd Phase involves appearing for GE-PIWAT

It is mandatory for all shortlisted candidates to complete this process.
Here is what all you need to know about this process:
  • The process involves three components. Group Exercise, Personal Interaction and Written Ability Test.
  • Group Exercise will include activities to asses aspirants in areas like innovation and creativity in problem solving ,team skills, time management etc.
  • The Personal Interaction round will be to assess candidates on parameters such as interpersonal skills, communication skills, academic proficiency. course fitment etc.
  • Written Ability Test will include questions to assess the creative analytical skills of the aspirant.

      A student is eligible to apply as a Foreign National (FN) if he/she holds a foreign passport.
    • Person of Indian Origin (PIO)
      A student is eligible to apply as a Person of Indian Origin (PIO) if he/she has a PIO card, and is a citizen of a country other than India.
    • Non Resident Indian (NRI)
      A student is eligible to apply as a Non Resident Indian (NRI) if he/she has appeared either for the 10+2(equivalent to the Indian 10+2) examination or graduation outside India. It is mandatory for one of the two qualifying examinations to be given outside India.
