Both journalism and audio-visual production domains have undergone fundamental changes in how content is produced, disseminated and consumed. This shift in the media industry has prompted SIMC to revise how we envision the academic programmes, with a new curriculum.
The introduction and mainstreaming of OTT platforms have opened the realm of digital production, which requires specific skills different from conventional audio-visual practices. The digital production philosophy extends into verticals like branded content, which define the contemporary media production landscape. The new academic programme, while retaining the basic philosophy and grammar of the audio-visual medium, incorporates the skills needed for the changing industry.
