Prof Ramesh Menon

Prof. Ramesh Menon is a seasoned journalist and academic with over four decades of experience in the media industry and nearly 15 years of teaching journalism and PR-related subjects at SIMC. Throughout his distinguished career, he has worked with leading media houses such as The Times of India, Business India Television, TV Today, and Rediff.com. Recognized for his excellence in journalism, Prof. Menon is the recipient of the prestigious Ramnath Goenka Award and the Madhavankutty Gold Medal for English journalism. He has also authored seven books, including notable titles like Modi Demystified (Harper Collins) and Art of Creative Writing (Har Anand Publishers).
Beyond writing and teaching, Prof. Menon has made significant contributions to documentary filmmaking, particularly on environmental and social issues. His acclaimed film The Slow Poisoning of India explores the dangerous infiltration of pesticides into the food chain. He also pioneered a popular short-term Creative Writing Course at the Sri Aurobindo Centre in Delhi, having conducted over 40 sessions in the past 13 years. Additionally, he coordinated a large-scale government-funded e-learning initiative for the UGC and served as the head trainer for foreign journalists under the Ministry of External Affairs. His expertise in communication also extends to corporate training, where he has led numerous soft-skills programmes across industries and academic institutions.
