Prof Mithunchandra Chaudhari

Prof Mithunchandra is a National Award-winning filmmaker whose work has garnered recognition at prestigious national and international film festivals. As the Head of the Audio Visual Programme at Symbiosis Institute of Media and Communication (SIMC), he brings his expertise in Creative Writing, Screenwriting, Direction, and Documentary Filmmaking to the classroom, inspiring the next generation of storytellers.
Prof Mithunchandra served on the IFFI jury for non-feature films in the Indian Panorama section in 2017 and contributed to the direction of acclaimed Marathi films Fandry and Sairat. He is currently in post-production on a feature-length documentary and is developing his debut feature-length fiction film. Additionally, his first poetry collection, Aatli Kawada, is set for publication this year. As a recipient of the USIEF Research Scholarship, he collaborated with fellow SIMC professors on research about 'Interactive Documentary' at Salisbury University, Maryland.
