By next year, the Masters Post-Gradute education of SIMC is expected to shift to a completely residential campus, spread over 300 acres of verdant hills and valleys, in the vicinity of the city. The Under-Graduate (BMS) shall be initiated in the current Viman Nagar campus.

The campus is envisaged to be of international standards and will provide state of the art facilities and amenities for both studying and living. The Lavale campus is the fulfillment of our founder Dr S B Mujumdar's dream of creating a world-class university capus which will be called the Symbiosis Knowledge Village.

This campus be an eco-friendly green zone where motor cars using conventional fuels will not be permitted to ply. Instead there will be CNG-powered shuttle busses. Students will be encouraged to walk or use bicycles.

Rain harvesting will allow water to be stored in large quantities which will be used to water the large number of plants. The entire campus will be lush green and a large number of trees of suitable species will be planted to enhance the existing flora. The architectural design of the building is meant to maximize ventilation and use available natural light which will reduce the dependence on electrical lighting and air-conditioning. Roof gardens will be developed to provide insulation from cold and heat.

SIMC will be shifting to this new campus in the next academic year.
