Debate club
The Debate Club is a platform for students to develop their oratory
communication skills. It has organized a Public Speaking session and an intra
college Debate Competition. The club plans to continue with similar activities
over the year and also hold workshops by professionals on voice modulation etc
over the year.

Theatre club
The Theatre club, initiated
this year at SIMC has a lot of fresh talent that is getting due exposure.
Actors, directors, playwrights are welcomed alike to this forum. The club has
organized an excellent two day Theatre workshop conducted by Jhuma Basak, an
interesting and effective mix of theory and practical exercises. Trust-building
exercises, voice modulation and martial arts were some of the key highlights of
the session. The club also has put together a short skit directed by Devina
Sengupta which will be enacted for the Alumni Nite.

Social communication media club
The objective of the Social Communications Club is to inculcate a sense of
social responsibility within the students, with live projects and interaction
with NGO's. The club has recently directed a movie on AIDS and 'Save the Girl
Child' for the CCDS Competition.

Cyber club
This online media club brings out an e-newsletter, manages databases, alumni
co-ordination, content development etc.

The club is also concerned with
organizing workshops on web-design, is responsible for content generation and
keeping up with technology trends.

Photography club
The club organises in-house
studio shooting, conducts outdoor shooting camps and excursions, organises
photo exhibitions, invites professional photographers to conduct workshops,
talk to the club members and also judge contests, and even undertakes corporate
photography assignments.

Research club
This newly formed club will concentrate on conducting market research
activities and sponsored research programs.

Photography exhibitions, such as this one by an SIMC team that had just returned from the
Maha Kumbh mela in 2006, are common features of activities in SIMC.
