SIMC invites proposals from any willing candidate with a Masters Degree, or 15 years of relevant full-time work experience, to be submitted with the following heads in the synopsis (8 to 12 typed pages):

(i) Title of the research: in less than 12 words;

(ii) Abstract of the theme: not more than 300 words;

(iii) Rationale of the study: why should it be done? Its benefits;

(iv) Research Questions: Three to six questions being answered by the research;

(v) Research Methodology: summary in 300 words about the qualitative and quantitative research methods being used;

(vi) Sources: brief summary of the primary and secondary sources being referred to, including online sources: less than 300 words;

(vii) Case-studies: Briefly noting the cases being referred to or explored: 300 words or less;

(viii) Tentative Chapterization: the first round of chapterization of the thesis.

(ix) Suggestions for industry guide: at least two with their backgrounds and full contact details.

(x) Initial Survey of Literature and Bibliography of online and offline literature.

(A) Based on this detailed proposal, the Ph D committee will approve or disapprove the same, after which the applicant can officially register.
(B) Minimum of 24 months and a maximum of 60 months will be allowed to complete the Ph D, with Rs.10,000 being the fees for every academic year.
(C) While SIU will finalize an academic guide for each research project, it will also approve an industry guide from the choices given by the candidate, with nominal annual fees for the guides.
(D) Each researcher should report at least once in a semester to the University, and make a seminar presentation in the respective Faculty, and defend the progress.
(E) The researcher will be provided with an Identity Card of SIU (and the faculty noted), have access to Faculty Library, and can visit any program organized by the Faculty.
(F) For deserving cases, SIU may fund a part of the field-work expenses, on a case-to-case basis.
(G) The Thesis should be submitted after the full satisfaction of the guide/s involved, defended before the Ph D Committee, and then sent to an External Examiner, after which the process can be considered complete. Based on the feedback from all these levels, the final award of the degree by SIU shall be decided upon.
