Eligibility
Graduates in any
discipline from any recognised University with a minimum of
50% aggregate marks (45% for SC/ST) are eligible to seek
admission. Marks obtained in a higher examination
(post-graduate) in the same stream can be accepted in lieu of
marks at the qualifying examination, provided the aggregate
score is at least 50% (45% for SC/ST) in the higher
examination. Applicants expecting their final year
graduation results may also apply. Their admission will be
provisional and subject to furnishing proof of graduation with
50% marks (45% for SC/ST), or equivalent grades, latest by
beginning of the Second Semester, or 30 September 2008,
whichever is earlier. Failure to furnish proof shall
render their admission null and void. No extra time will be
given for submission of final mark sheet even in the case of
students who have applied for revaluation. There is no
provision for refund of fees in case the student is expelled
due to non-compliance with minimum eligibility requirement.
The students selected for admission to the following
courses through professional way. Student's selection for
admission is a two-step process. Graduates in any discipline

Admission Procedure First
Round
SNAP is the Symbiosis National Aptitude Test;
a common written test conducted by Symbiosis for Postgraduate
programmes in management, information technology, mass
communication and geo-informatics, and is held in over 25
cities across India. It is the first step in seeking admission
to Symbiosis Institute of Media and Communication (SIMC). The
score of the SNAP Test is used to select candidates for the
second round. SIMC gives a varied weightage to the SNAP test
component scores and does not go by the aggregate SNAP score
only.

Second Round
This round consists of a group
discussion, home assignments and a personal interview. The
weightage is as follows: Personal Interview 30% Group
Discussion 10% Assignments 30% Peer Interface
10% Past Academic Performance 10% Work Experience
10% Fill up the attached Admission Form and send it back to
the Institute to reach latest by 28 December
2007.

| A couple of
scholarships are expected to be made available to deserving
candidates on merit-cum-means basis, Director's discretion
being final. Health insurance, periodic medical checkups,
gym/spa, parking, examination, and some other additional
charges, which may amount up to Rs. 5000, are payable
later. For International Students' admissions, there will
be a separate prospectus issued by the International Office,
Senapati Bapat Road, Pune - 411 004. All admissions for
International Students will be done through the International
Office.
Refund
Requests for cancellation
of Admission and refund of fees received in writing within one
month from the commencement of course will receive a refund of
fee and deposits, after deduction of 25% towards
administrative expenses. Cancellations received after one
month from the commencement of course will not be entitled for
refund of fees. The security deposit, however, will be
refunded in full.
